Dear Readers,
Well, it has happened, yet another lifelong dream coming true. You see I just purchased a travel trailer at Camper World, Tyler, Texas. Meet Mark, my GLAMPER!

What is a GLAMPER? Well, it is a trailer that will be decorated with all the luxuries and glamorous lifestyle of the ultimate in the camping experience. Now you all I have been a camper pretty much all my life, from being an official Girl Scout to later on Girl Scout leader to going on camping trips with my best friend Pam Winfrey and her parents Bob and Dorothy Winfrey back in high school in Kansas. The Winfreys use to take me, Pam, Heidi Surber, Elaine Wallace on their camping adventures. The Winfreys stayed in a small travel trailer and us girls would camp in a tent. During my college years, I worked at Fall River State Park in Fall River, Kansas as a Rangerette and Lifeguard. Spent a good amount of my summers camping there. As a young adult, I traveled up the California coast all the way to Crater Lake and back visiting all the National and State Parks, camping in a tent. Later on spent two weeks backpacking and camping in Colorado. Spent more time as an adult being a camp counselor at church camps. With my girls, we camped all the time, mostly at Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma but really all over Texas. Last summer we camped with my fellow University of Texas in Tyler art students at Monahan State Park on the sand dunes on our way to Marfa, Texas. That was a story in itself. I could probably write a book just on my camping expereiences, hahahaha!

The seed was planted and I have dreamed of getting my own trailer ever since. Now at 62 you all, it’s Happy 62 Birthday to me. With my birthday coming up and turning 62, now officially filed for Social Security I am embracing this chapter in my life with gusto. So to my Pulpwood Queens Book Clubs, let us show the world how Senior Citizenship is done. I plan on seeing the country you all. I want to visit my 750+ book clubs coast to coast and who knows, maybe I will even make it up one day AGAIN to my Alaska chapters. I also wanted to get this GLAMPER so I could have something to stay in when I deliver my large paintings. After traveling nearly 4,000 miles and back delivering three to some of my authors and back, I just need a place to park and camp as I do so. Getting out and visiting my authors, artists, and Pulpwood Queens has made me realize this is a wonderful and welcoming country. Turn off the t.v. and get off the grid, you will find so much love and friendship, hospitality and open arms it is not even funny.
I also know that now I am working full time as an author and artist, my finances are limited. So a great way to keep the costs down and even applying for an art grant fellowship next summer that may take me out of state for the summer but needed a place to stay with my cats. Now I have it, hurrah!
I named my GlAMPER Mark as former Lt. Colonel Mark Green bought my last big painting and helped to fund this new adventure. Also because I have so many Mark friends and for this saying, “ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO. Rudolf, my Toyota FJ Cruiser with 4-Wheel Driver and boulder crawler feature, was purchased previously just so I could pull a small trailer. I think Rudolf and Mark will get along famously. It may not be the vintage Airstream that was my original dream but hey, this Coleman one is the bomb!

I have to thank all my authors, Pulpwood Queens and Timber Guys Book Club members, and patrons as now have 9 commissioned paintings in the works for my NEW “Queen and King” series. I cannot thank you enough as your patronage as it is helping me to finally live out all my wildest dreams.
I have never had much financial success in life, pretty much-been hand to mouth but I am very rich indeed with all the wealth of my dear, dear friends, authors, book club members and social media friends. To me, my relationships with others are what are truly my greatest treasures and riches in life. But you have to live, so here is my selling pitch dear friends. I have a Newly relaunched book, “The Pulpwood Queens’ Tiara Wearing, Book Sharing Guide to Life’ with my original maiden name, Kathy L. These are my only sources of income so by your supporting any and all of these ventures, you keep The Pulpwood Queen supported on her literary and art promoting passions!
I will be celebrating this NEW GLAMPER at Tyler State Park camping for my 62nd birthday celebration August 24th – 27th, at Tyler State Park between my home and Tyler, Texas. Won’t you join me and come to meet Mark! My friends so far that are coming for sure are the infamous children’s author, Alligator Annie, Alma E. Tippins and Pulpwood Queen Tiajuana Anderson Neel. I know my daughters will be stopping by, Helaina Amethyst Wilkerson and Madeleine Alexandrite Patrick as they are big campers too. We celebrated this past Mother’s Day together camping in a tent. oh, now we have arrived! I know my full hook up at the campsite is Lakeside so if you want to check online, there are still plenty of campsites. I’ll have the birthday cake on Saturday so day trip, stop by, camp if you like and help me celebrate as we get back to nature in style. To me there is nothing better than being with all my friends and family!
