The Pulpwood Queen Announces Tiajuana Anderson Neel is NEW Executive Director of The Pulpwood Queen Book Club Reading Nation!

Happy Halloween Dear Readers!

Yes, I would like to Officially announce that Pulpwood Queen Tiajuana Anderson Neel has now been appointed the Official Executive Director of The Pulpwood Queens Book Club Reading Nation. Tiajuana has been with me since pretty much the very start of my founding The Pulpwood Queens of East Texas back in 2000. She has been ever present and always ever ready to volunteer for all that we do to promote literacy. If you have ever come to our annual book club convention, you know that Tiajuana is always there to greet you, get you your packets and help work out any problems that may occur. The woman has SKILLS!

The Pulpwood Queens and yes, Timber Guys Book Clubs has been my passion since the get go. Through the years it has grown and I really do not think anyone has any idea just how much time I spend on making sure it runs as smooth as it does. I also have learned as we are nearing the 1,000 book club mark, that I need help to keep it running as best it can. Tiajuana is just a given. She gives it her all just like me and I can always count on her. Being an artist, a creative person, I truly need a team to help us go into our soon 20th year, so please welcome Tiajuana Anderson Neel. From all you posts on social media, I truly believe that this may be one of the best decisions of my life. Thank you for acknowledging her as she truly runs the roads with me and often represents The Pulpwood Queen when I cannot be present. Again, the woman has SKILLS!

So I also have to mention other members of The Pulpwood Queen Book Club Team that work ever diligently behind the scene. First my friend and Pulpwood Queen Barbara Deen. Barbara came to me to volunteer to help me keep up with the ever growing mail outs of Membership packets. It’s a big job and one that she does very well. Again, Barbara has SKILLS! I cannot thank Barbara enough for mailing out these packets and more. She has it down to a science and me, trying to get to the post office is always a challenge, too many things always happening all at once. Now if I can ever get Barbara to let me take her picture, stay tuned.

Nest up, Paul Roberson, my webmaster, Paul is also a University of Texas in Tyler graduate as myself and joined first as a Timber Guy member then came forth to help me with my website, www.thepulpwoodqueens.com and all things that involve computer technical skills. He works too very hard and boy does he have amazing SKILLS! I cannot thank him enough as if I had my way I would still be back on my Smith-Corona typewriter. I’m so OLD SCHOOL!

Then I have my grown children, my youngest, Madeleine Alexandrite Patrick, who just recently received after numerous interviews, an internship to DisneyWorld so after Girlfriend Weekend, she is moving to DisneyWorld, Florida! I am thrilled for her at this amazing opportunity. When she was still just a kid, she was running Registration at Girlfriend Weekend, printing out name tags. Madeleine has SKILLS! I cannot thank her enough too for all she has brought behind the scenes at Girlfriend Weekend.

Next, my daughter, Helaina Amethyst Wilkerson, who if you have not heard, is making me a grandmother. They want their child to call me Mama Kat but you and I know children call their grandparents what they want to. Lainie has been every present at Girlfriend Weekend as a spokesperson, trouble shooter, and like her sister, just helps make Girlfriend Weekend fly. Helaina has SKILLS!

Then I have my son-in-law Toby Wilkerson and his brother, Russ Forsyth who too help make Girlfriend Weekend a resounding success with their Master of Ceremonies capabilities and their bringing the music and the dance party into action at our “Great Big Ball of Hair Ball”! They have SKILLS. Finally I have some men in family who I am blessed with having every day.

Last my two amazing college students now graduated, Karen Perkins of Stephen F. Austin State College, now a professor there, and Alex Jenkins, a graduate of Texas A & M University so bring even more SKILLS into my tremendous TEAM EFFORT! (Photos coming)

So will get a group photo this 2019 Girlfriend Weekend so we can now take you into our 20th Anniversary Pulpwood Queen Girlfriend Weekend event where I am already booking in authors.

A very Happy Halloween to each and everyone of you! All of this would not be possible for you all joining my Pulpwood Queens and Timber Guy Book Clubs including all my very supportive authors. You all have made my life a dream come true now let’s all get on board to READING! This is the year we have to bring everybody to the party so grab a friend, a spouse, a reader and bring them to our annual book club convention. Our authors coming deserve a SOLD OUT audience. This is the most EPIC group of authors and musical artists I have ever brought to the party so ALL ABOARD to our HOW THE WEST WAS WON themed weekend. The full program is almost finished on the website, just have to add in the recent CONFIRMED Brenda McClain who won last year our BOOK OF THE YEAR! YEEHAW and some minor tweaks.
